What can you do to support track cycling in Edinburgh ?

Bit of a long shot this but at least you know about it and can stay at home on the couch if you don't fancy it !

The velodrome is hosting the former ERC Northern leg of the Youth Omnium series and probably the Dundee event that was due to be held the same week end 12th and 13th of May.

It's also the place to be for the European messengers championship week end in June

The track surface has been really well maintained by Tosh Scott but the buildings are in a state of neglect after quite a few years of the council and Edinburgh leisure operating on an "essential maintenance basis" In short they are full of rubbish !

Meadowbank Track league and ESTPA are appealing for volunteers to come down to the track on Thursday evening the 10th of May any time between 6 and 9 to do a bit of clearing out of cupboards and rooms, dumping stuff in the skip and a bit of brushing up under the direction of Audrey Walker and David Hoy. If there are many hands it should not take too long.

As an incentive to come along there will be some tokens of appreciation for the hard workers and the cheerful folk.

These include free entry to the "Devil Masterclass "training event being run by ESTPA at Meadowbank some time during the next two weeks.
