Drops are great in a headwind once you're used to the riding position... have you given them a fair go before chopping them? I'm using track bars at the moment, and though it initially took some getting used to, they're narrow and stiff and great in the wind! (look pretty cool too ;))
Done a 12 mile test ride on the bike yesterday, didnt like the drops at all. I found a set of charge slice track bars half price on Evans, so I have went for those. I might keep the drops for a while incase I want to give it another bash in the future.
I do like my track bars, but not sure about my position - might be my stiff ageing back though - but most of the time I end up sitting my hands where the hoods would be. What is noticeable is that climbing isn't as easy as with the bullhorns.
I've got a set of bullhorns that I'm not gona use ( not cut down drops - they are made ) ,a fiver They're wrapped in a black tape and ready to go , if ure int il put pics up
du want pics ,i got them from mech vandal and iv not used them ,i dont have a caliper to measure the knurled area but its narrower than the stem iv got
Just had a look a Mech's pic. Are they sloped along the top? I'll be putting BMX levers on, and I'll be spending a lot of time on that part; dunno if the sloping will hinder that.
