Pedal Strike

New forks + riding like on fixed gear + sharp corner = Pedal strike = Epic fail
Whole left side weak and sore. Now 50 minutes later my wrist is useless. Every joint on my left side has limited movement and extreme pain. Not looking forward to potential A&E visit tomorrow :( -

Suspected scaphoid fracture. Going to the fracture clinic tomorrow for an orthopaedic opinion. Might get an MRI if they're not certain because there's a guy at the western who specialises in that. 6 Weeks in a pretty restrictive cast if it's a fracture.

the fracture guy @ the western is excellent. He saw me quite a few times over the last few years since my accident & shoulder destruction. Good hands with him. -

I used to visit the western all the time as a teen from breaking bones skateboarding, where they used to say, "oh no, not again" when I was in getting plastered. haha. I hope I never get one again.... -

I ended up about 9 weeks for mine cos I was an arse for the initial 6 weeks and didn't rest it very well. (Cos of course being off work meant I could get on with all the decorating and stuff in the new house, Innit?).
It's a tricky one to knit apparently although DIY doesn't help.
Take all the official advice and get better quick. -

Not too bad. I'm used to having a cast on my arm after 5 weeks. Felt strange to have it off.

Cant reember ho long my cast was on when I crashed my motorbike but it was wierd as fuck when it came off, the skin was all sensitive and my arm was wasted.

Slipped on the ice just 20 metres from my flat on the way home tonight. I've got a very similar pain in my left wrist to what I had last year. I'll see how it feels tomorrow and maybe make a trip to the western (or maybe the Royal for better management).
