Bike Polo // Sunday 27th January // The Barn // 11:00
  • Easy tiger
  • aye that looked like fun. the slack geometry of my mountain bike seem slike it would be good for playing or is that cheating?
  • all bikes are allowed proper plugged or capped bars though.
  • brilliant ill play on my dh bike then. i dont have a mallet tho...
  • mallets we can provide.

brian i take it htose measurements are from teh should to the top of the crown race sleeve?

The bottom I think. One head tube is 122mm and one is 102mm and I'm allowing for 38mm stack height. So I am assuming from the bottom of the crown race.

I think that would be to your disadvantage a slack headangle and triple clamp forks would prolly give you the widest turning circle ever. No exactly nimble lol
  • would compare to my bike for instance
  • wouldn't*

I dunno about a full sus DH bike but that norco hardtail you are selling would be a suitable frame to use, SS setup, rear disc
  • aye actually ill retract that statement...
i guess a small turning circle is important.
christ dont tempt me to keep that frame. i dont have anything to build it up with anyway. its needs to go!
  • that time of the week again folks!

    who is in?
  • Me too. I think I might have to bring Finlay along too.
  • I might pop my head in for a bit. dont have to leave for football until 8.40. nae mallet tho.
  • I'll be back again that was a good laugh!
  • working :) and :(
  • I'll be there.
  • Just wondering if you guys had looked at the new basketball court between Hyndland Street/Mansfield Street (outside Clan Skates, where the farmer's market is held)?

Probably closed after a certain time, but might be worth a look: smooth surface, good size, built-in goals.
  • my football is now cancelled so will be there for longer tomorrow.

    7pm yeah?

It's very busy and it's got a sign on it saying no bikes but when it gets lighter in the evenings it's gonna be worth a shot.
  • Yeah 7, Imma try and get there for 630 if anyone is interested, if we get there earlier we could get a couple games in the bit we used to play (which is a much better space)
  • There's also an enclosed basketball court in Newlands and another behind Morrisons in Shawlands. May score a bit high on the bam factor though.
  • Sorry guys but I won't be making it tomorrow, I'll be busy taking photos of Katy Perry n Cheryl Cole. It's a hard life.
  • gonna have to give tonight a miss guys, i'm helping at the launch of glasgow bike sheds fix you own bike plus ny kneee isn't amazing
  • how many mallets will be available tonight? getafix has two and james two. anyone else?

might need to get making some more for future use.
  • I've got Derek's two too.

  • Lost track of the list but I'll be down about 7 till half past and see if anyone turns up...
  • think I am gonna head over to fix your own bike but should be back in time if I can get my wheel re-dished over there. heading over now.
  • I'll be there at about 7: got a ball and 2 or 3 mallets
  • I'm not playing out tonight, gotta tidy my room.
  • I'm not sure if I can make it guys, sorry.
  • Doesn't look like it's happening then?
  • Aye, game's a bogey I'd say. It's not raining any more ya pussies.
  • shame we couldn't decide before I rode down there and hung around in an empty car park!

  • Sorry, I had a real emergency with neighbours from hell.
  • Up for a new court? Gorbals one looked quiet the other night. Good size and surface
    1. Islipaway

can you just stroll in there? looks good if you can.
  • I'd be sceptical about that place.
  • Well there's no lock on it. It was dead the last few nights I went down to check. We can only be moved on. If people are too scared to even give it a go then I despair!
  • i believe its called 'growing a pair'
  • Cool, I cycle past that way every day and I thought it was some kind of residential place but I guess not. I'll be there. Not far from the Quay if we get papped out anyway.
  • Yeah it does look like that to be honest but it's not locked. Who knows.
  • Why not, let's try it
