    rusty - fixed

My brother's not coming as he's in Edinburgh tomorrow morning. Goose might come but probably wont because he's out tonight. A mate from uni might come also.
  • if i have ay chance of making it i need to get my beauty sleep so see u guys tomorrow morning
  • nice one. i'll be fixed too. see you all there!
  • i'll be leaving at 0815, so see you all there!

  • Sounds great. I think we've got a quite a few people this week.
  • sorry guys, totally missed the boat on this one. got too engrossed in my work... next time
  • thanks guys - i'm back in the house and my feet are still numb but it was a great ride! nice to meet you all (again for you rusty.)

edit - i forgot to say, i got chased and bitten by a dog (boxer) about two miles from my house! not proper bitten, playful bitten. i was just too exciting for him, he was well up for the chase!
  • I've added the Saturday Morning Ride to the forum calendar.

I used to be proper scared of dogs. I think even now, if a dog chased me like that, I'd be shitting myself.
  • if a dog chased me like that i'd not be too happy!

i used to have a fairly reckless dog so it's something i'm used to.
  • I was chased along Edinburgh Road by a dog once, it kept circling me in a threatening manner, until it was sadly hit by a passing car. Quite an unpleasant experience all in all.
  • anything sorted for this sat?
  • Indeed. The usual. 9:50am for 10:00am departure from the north-east corner of George Square.
  • sounds delightful

i have just finished polishing my track bars.
i got a set from a friend down in London for free as they were heavily scratched and didn't look too nice, i sanded them down then polished them up, they look nice now, still quite a few marks in them as the marks were deep but they were better than before.

some clown had obviously tried to take bartape off the easy way.... getting a sharp knife and scoring it right down the bars length... you will see it on sat.
p.s - does anyone have some oil... im out of the stuff and my chain needs a loving relationship with your oil!
  • Is anyone up for the ride tomorrow? If no one replies then I'll not be coming in to town before leaving.
  • i couldn't face leaving my bed.
i will come to the next one weather permitting.
  • It was just me on Saturday. I only went out for a brief 13 miles after setting up my new bike.

    Pics!
I've still not taken my camera round to my parents house (where the bike lives). I'll get photos up complete with a bunch of other cycle-related crap I've asked for for christmas form various people.
  • anyone up for this saturday (27th) - last one of the year!?

i'll come in for the ride if there are any takers.

i'm hoping to see some cool new christmas presents on display.
  • I'll be there to show off my Christmas presents :p
  • WHICH IS...

There's a bunch of stuff but they include overshoes and mudguards so my Saturday morning rides will be less anti-social from now on.

I have fabricated a rear mud flap for my mudguard using the top of a Haribo box further minimising the spray for my riding chums!

  • i'll try and make it along although my getting out of bed skills are pretty shite
  • so who's out tomorrow?

    1. johnnyhotdog.
  • Me. Weather forecast looks very favorable:)
  • sadly can't make it.
  • if the weather is nice and dry, i may come geared for a change but if it's still a bit damp, i'll be fixed again. doeas anyone have any ideas for a route? i'm still looking to learn so don't ask me for one just yet!

Cuppa T, sorry to hear you can't make it - maybe next week?

(minor hi-jack - did anyone do CM today?)

I'll be out with my christmas presents (mudguards &winter gear) and my shiny new Focus Variado. As for a route, I was thinking we should do the Eaglesham moors road or, if Kenny turns up, a nice East Dunbartonshire route.
  • Ill be there, 10am is it? Eaglesham moor rd probably best for everyone this time. Its mega mileage up my way for Johnny!
  • Sounds good. 10:00am it is!
  • there's a run to balloch on bikely i was having a wee look at:

    http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Glasgow-Balloch-training-route

maybe not for tomorrow but one to think about?

(are you trying to confuse me merak is kenny is merak isn't he? or am i all wrong?)

edit - don't worry about the mileage for me - i can always fit in a cafe stop and/or jump on the train if it gets too much!

Kenny, Merak, is from Milngavie and knows the roads about that way.
  • yeah, i know - it was just the way you listed Merak as coming then wrote/typed "if kenny turns up" as if it was a different person.

i don't have a big brain, you know!
  • We can finalize a route in the morning. I don't mind where we go.
I dont have any time constraints tomorrow.
  • I don't have any time constraints tomorrow either. I'm up for a nice 30-40 miler!
  • no time constraints for me either. :-)
  • Cant make it tomorrow now, next time :(
